The best plant based beef burgers.
We’ve come a loooooong way since black bean burgers, haven’t we? No shade to vintage veggie eating, but we’re really glad meaty plant-based burgers have entered the chat.
This is a list of the best plant based burgers we’ve managed to get our hands on. We have ranked them, as always, on taste, texture, value for money and our PBFG Feel-Good Factor!
1.) Moving Mountains, Quarter pounder burgers
The best meat replacement we have ever tasted. It's so moist that we cannot believe it isn't real meat. It’s vegan, high in protein, and absolutely delicious. It comes in the perfect recyclable cardboard packaging and it made by a dedicated plant based food brand. It’s a little expensive, but not prohibitively and we feel like the branding should appeal to most people.

2.) No Meat Co, Ultimate burgers
These are delicious burger replacements. The beauty of this product though is the family friendly price point. No surprises there being an Iceland product, however that does bring down the feel good factor score as Iceland have profited for years from selling cheap animal products.

3.) Future Farm, Future burger
This could be the most realistic beef burger replacement we have tried. The texture when un-cooked is quite soft which makes it difficult to get out of the (unfortunately) plastic tray, but cooked it was phenomenal. It’s been a long time since either of us have eaten a beef burger, but we are confident that there is no way someone could tell this wasn't meat.
It was also delicious. However, this is a premium product with an expensive price point. Overall, it’s a cool brand. These burgers taste incredible, they look amazing, but, it’s too expensive and the packaging is not environmentally friendly

4.) Beyond Meat, Beyond Burger
It’s a really good burger; it's as versatile as any regular beef burger would be, but it’s a little pricey and the plastic packaging lets it down. It has that distinctive ‘Beyond Meat’ flavour.
